What will The Omega-3 Centre do?

  • Effectively communicate the health benefits of Omega-3s and where to find them
  • De-mystify Omega-3s by translating the scientific evidence for these important nutrients
  • Identify barriers to optimal intakes of Omega-3s and help address solutions
  • Work with regulators and scientists to encourage a conducive environment for communications on Omega-3s
  • Differentiate between different types of Omega-3s with a focus on the long chain Omega-3s (EPA and DHA) which are of most potential benefit
  • Keep members up-to-date with current issues, research and regulations related to Omega-3s and support activities consistent with the Centre’s goals

A Management Committee determines the priorities and direction of the Centre and sound science underpins all communications from the Centre.
